Total Defence Day
Total Defence Day
ALPS commemorated Total Defence Day (TDD) with a series of meaningful activities held from 9 to 11 Feb. During this period, our students actively participated in recess activities that represented each of the six pillars of Total Defence, demonstrating their growing understanding and readiness to defend our nation. We were privileged to have volunteers from the Singapore Red Cross Youth who taught students invaluable first aid techniques and CPR skills through hands-on sessions.
Our students experienced a simulated power disruption, which challenged them to adapt to unexpected circumstances and develop resilience in the face of adversity. Students learnt to navigate their daily routines without electricity, discovering alternative ways to complete tasks and communicate effectively. Following the activities, students participated in guided discussions to reflect on their experiences, sharing their thoughts and feelings with classmates about what they had learnt and how the day's events deepened their understanding of Total Defence.
