Math, Science & Environmental Education Week
Math, Science & Environmental Education Week 2026: Building a Sustainable Town
The Math, Science and Environmental Education Week launched with an assembly
skit on environmental impact, inspiring Primary 1 to Primary 6 students
to become "Town Advisors" for the Greenhaven simulation. This programme
fosters critical and inventive thinking by immersing students in real-world
scenarios where they move beyond simple habits to embrace adaptive thinking.
Lower Primary students applied responsible decision-making to waste management,
while Middle Primary levels used analytical reasoning to balance biodiversity
and energy needs. Upper Primary students engaged in collaborative problem-solving,
managing budgets and scientific strategies to stabilise water resources
and cool the town.
By navigating these challenges, students develop the global awareness and resilience needed to become active contributors who understand that true sustainability is about making balanced choices today to protect our collective future.
