Lunar New Year
Lunar New Year 2026
During the 2026 Lunar New Year celebration, students at ALPS experienced the rich traditions of the festival through engaging MTL CCE lessons and a series of school-wide activities. Students participated in a variety of meaningful experiences, including a parent-child lantern-making activity, a traditional food showcase organised by our Parent Support Group (PSG), writing Lunar New Year greetings, and festive craft-making activities conducted in classrooms. Our Primary 6 students also took part in a meaningful Lo Hei session, which provided opportunities to learn about the cultural significance and values behind this tradition.
To create a festive atmosphere, members of the PSG and parent volunteers thoughtfully decorated the school with horse-themed displays, transforming the campus into a vibrant celebration space. Through these activities, students deepened their appreciation and understanding of Chinese traditions and customs while experiencing the joy of shared cultural celebrations. The event also strengthened our school-home partnership, reflecting ALPS’ commitment to nurturing students through collaborative community efforts.
As ALPS welcomes the Year of the Horse with hope and positivity, we look forward to continuing to provide authentic learning experiences that enrich students’ cultural understanding and values.
